Sold faulty iPhone - buyer asking for passcode?

Hello! I sold an old iPhone to someone in the EU (listed as UK only and set my buyer requirements to domestic postage but didn’t change my buyer requirements 😤). I originally sent it to Mazuma when it was working so I know you have to log out of iCloud etc before you do. I didn’t accept their offer and got it back and it has been sitting in my house for months. When I had a clear out, it wouldn’t switch on so I listed it on eBay for parts. The person who has bought it has now asked for the passcode (I assume they have it working). My question is if I can’t remember this do I have to send this to them if I listed the item as faulty? I worry about them being able to access other things on my old phone also if I give them any codes/pins. I am also unsure how Mazuma accessed the phone also if it had a passcode. Thanks in advance.

Fortunately you correctly listed it is for parts or not working, and didn't undermine this by making any claims about it.

This should mean that eBay would find in your favour if the buyer opened a money back guarantee case because it didn't have a passcode. None was offered or mentioned in the listing. They don't have any cause to complain - eBay's definition of "for parts or not working" reminds buyers that this can mean they're missing essential components.

In any case, it's a bit late now to worry what they might find on your phone if they can get into it! If this is a real concern it might be worth offering them a refund on return.
