Hi there,
i have an item currently on auction. A buyer wants to pay subsantial amount but wants me to send him an invoice request via paypal. Is this a scam?

All they are really after is your email address so they could send you a fake message that you have been paid.
Always log into paypal to see that money is in your account and take the address to which you post from the Paypal payment.
