Royal Mail 24 Signed For Click & Drop Late Defects

Hello all,

We've recently switched from franking parcels 1st class Signed for and taking them to the post office, to using Click & Drop Royal Mail 24 Signed For and having royal mail do a daily collection. We've noticed that although we dispatch same day as RM 24 Signed For, some of the items are not being received for 3-5 working days and hence we are getting marked down as a late delivery defect. We've appealed 2 of these, one ebay removed, the other they refused.

Since we now have a RM collection, and the items are already bagged for collection and dont have an acceptance scan by the post office, how can we avoid these defects? Is there a way to get acceptance scans somehow? We've tried contacting royal mail and no luck. Or are we better off just not uploading tracking details?

We're just wondering how others are dealing with this, or are you just not sending signed for or not uploading tracking details?

You are in a catch 22 here because if you don't upload the tracking details and the buyer gives you a late defect eBay will refuse to remove it even with proof that it was despatched on time because you failed to upload the tracking!

I personally now take all of my parcels to a Post Office and use counter service. That way I know that they are being dealt with immediately (I see others bringing in Business Post which is left to build up until someone has time to actual deal with it and the clerk has admitted to me that sometimes it can sit there for up to 2 days)
