Unfortunately eBay tend to be very biased in favour of the buyer, so in theory a buyer could make up anything at all about the condition of an item that he/she had purchased and eBay wouldn't even think to question whether or not the buyer was actually telling the truth. Therefore, it would probably be in your best interests to issue a returns label and get the crocs back again, then once you've got them back add the buyer's User ID to your Blocked Bidders List so that he/she cannot purchase anything else from you and cause you any further problems. The only problem you may have with this is that given the fact that you've recently been involved in a transaction with this buyer the blocks will take sixty days to kick in, although if you do receive any bids from this buyer before the blocks actually take effect then you could just cancel his/her bids manually in order to stop the buyer from purchasing the item. Should the buyer keep on trying to reinstate the bid, regardless of having his/her bid cancelled, contact eBay Customer Service and report the buyer for trying to circumvent your blocks.
