I have a so-called buyer for an item listed at £25 buyer who:
Put in offers of 99p, £5 and £20
When the £20 one wasn't auto-declined, he retracted it claiming that he entered the wrong amount
Subsequently he bid £25
He messaged me saying he would need extra time to pay
He retracted his bid claiming wrong amount
Why does there appear to be nothing in place to prevent this - perhaps by forcing a new amount to be entered? Why can someone retract a bid of the starting price claiming wrong amount?
Obviously never intending to buy the item, why aren't there punitive measures in place to protect the eBay world from such people?
1. Add this person to your Blocked bidder List.
2. What difference would it make if they were forced to enter a correct amount. He is obviously a time waster and I would have blocked him after an offer of 99p. Even if he bid and won I doubt he would have paid and even then you could expect trouble later on.
Never put up with anyone like this add to BBL at the first signs.
Last time I had a 99p offer on a £5 item, I sent a Counter Offer of £10, he got the message and he is now on my BBL.
