Hi
i listed one of my two Tower of London poppies and a few days later at the beginning of June 2020 ebay told me they had removed the listing as it contravened their policy
But there were quite a few poppies listed at the same time which sold, in some cases for considerable sums. And I’ve noticed that there are still plenty of poppies being listed and sold now,(July 16 2020).
so is anyone’s aware if the policy has changed or have all these buyers just slipped through
Ebay can't possibly vet the billions of listings that appear on their site, so 'slipping through' as such doesn't happen. They can only act when a listing is reported (there's a 'Report' button on every listing). I suspect yours was reported for profiteering from 'Disasters and human tragedies'. Listing such items for sale is strictly prohibited.
The others are still listed because they either haven't been reported yet, or Ebay haven't yet got round to dealing with the reports. If you want to report them yourself, this is how to do it:
Click the 'Report' button on the listing. Then:
Prohibited and restricted items
then
Offensive or violent material
then
Disasters and human tragedies
i have no idea why ebay would remove a listing for one of those, or a policy that warrents it`s removal, but chances are, someone has reported the listing for whatever reason, thus removing you as `competition`, which seems rather odd over a poppy!
Perhaps the other guys may have an idea, but if ebay have removed it, don`t relist it again in case it gets reported again and your suspended.
