New ebay seller

I have been selling on ebay for nearly a month now, i need to revise some items stocks and prices however everytime i do that it sends me back to sign in and then says i need to request higher selling allowances. So the problem is in my item category there arent so many sellers and the other sellers are constantly changing their prices for some reason and it becomes very competitve, now the competitors have dropped their prices significantly and i've not been able to make any sales since. I have tried to request more listings however i do not qualify. I've tried to call ebay and they are not open for calls, im not sure exactly what to do. It would have been better if ebay allowed new sellers unlimited listings for the first month simply because we are new and revise items alot due to newbie mistakes such as shipping or description or understanding how much ads to run etc. Can anyone guide me on what to do at this point?
