Hi,
I sold a mower that has apparently stopped working. It looks to be an old repair that has lasted for the last 10 years that has failed.
The guy I sold it to took it to a mower repair shop who charged him £120 to look at it and diagnose the issue.
He is wanting me to reduce the price by half (£400 off) so he doesn't have to return it. To return it he has to rent a van.
Would you suggest to get him to get eBay involved and start a resolution case?
I sold it in good faith, I even had to do a video to show him it working.
Thanks
CS
Depends how he paid, if it was in cash, ebay won't be interested.

As you say they paid in cash it's between you and the buyer - eBay won't get involved.
You're a private seller. You've sold an item that was an old no-longer-wanted possession, and presumably some time ago. You are not responsible for such items when they fail in use. That is a risk a buyer takes when they buy used items from private sellers.
If you're happy to help the buyer out financially, that is entirely up to you. If not, ignore him. He has no legal recourse whatsoever.
