Listing removal

Ebay have removed a listing for massage balm stating its a persciption item but other sellers are listing the product without issue? The item is a herbal balm with a branded name from Thailand. Any advice as i am totally confused. Thanks, Serena.

There are lots of things on Ebay that aren't allowed here, so that's not the way you work out whether or not you can list your items. You read the information that Ebay supplies, in their Seller Centre, Policies, and Help pages (links along the foot of any page).

Read this for starters: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/prescription-overthecounter-drugs-p...

Like speeding drivers, sellers who have listed items which aren't allowed here, simply haven't yet been caught. You have. Telling the policeman who stops you that lots of others are also speeding and breaking the law, won't wash, I'm afraid.

You'll also be on Ebay's radar now for trading illegally on a private account. These are only for those selling off their old no longer wanted possessions. Anyone who makes, grows, refurbishes, or buys in (new or used) items to sell, is a business and must be registered as such. Not only an Ebay requirement, but the law. For confirmation, go to Ebay's Seller Centre. For full information, go to the government's website.

And note that there is no such thing as a 'hobby seller' in this country, and how much or how little you sell or make is totally irrelevant. So upgrade your account from private to business as a matter of urgency, before you find yourself in deep doodoo with Ebay (for defrauding them of fees), and with Trading Standards (for denying buyers their legal rights).

My advice is you've already drawn attention to this account.

But looking at your items you appear to be a unregistered business seller.

This is putting your account at risk.

Yes, don’t try to relist it! Just because others haven’t been caught yet don’t make it ok!
