I accidentally listed a jacket with a £500 reserve, realised my mistake and withdrew it immediately.
Ebay are wanting to charge me £19 + for the listing even though I removed it but I cannot contact them (as usual).
How can I resolve this please?
Chris
To be honest it really isn't a good idea to use a reserve on your listing, as eBay wil charge you for having used it on the listing in the first place, regardless of whether or not the item actually sells. The best option is to set the starting bid at an amount that ensures that once PayPal and eBay have both taken their cut of the selling price you still end up with the minimum amount that you wanted for the item, even if you only get one bid. If you do this then you can effectively make the option of listing with a reserve obsolete - the reserve function is really nothing more than an eBay ploy to milk sellers for more money than they would otherwise get if the seller hadn't used the reserve option. What's the point of giving eBay a greater percentage of the money that you make from the sale of your items when you could set up a listing without the reserve option and end up with a higher overall amount of the sale price to keep for yourself?
you added a reserve, the fee is charged as soon as the listing goes live
you can try contacting CS, they may agree to waive the fee, but it really depends on how long the item was listed for, before you ended it.
