I SOLD AN AIR CONDITIONER ON E.BAY, THE BUYER PAID THROUGH PAYPAL AND NOW I AM HAVING TROUBLE RETRIVING PAYMENT, AS PAYPAL IS MAKING IT AKWARD FOR ME TO RECEIVE PAYMENT
Prior to this sale, you hadn't sold anything for a long time, so, along with all new and occasional sellers, your payments received are subject to PayPal's 21-day hold. It's nothing personal, and not PayPal being 'awkward'. It's a Trust & Safety policy to protect both buyers and sellers from account hackers. You can read all about it - and how to release payment sooner - in Ebay's Seller Centre (link at foot of any page) or on PayPal's website.

For collection items; although you cannot refuse PayPal if buyer insists (except for vehicles), always try your best to get Cash on collection = No 21 day payment holds /PP fees/ Chargebacks / Later claims for damage/not received etc.>
