Hi. Having resolved an issue with a buyer (as recommended), I have agreed to give them a partial refund. Neither of us has referred the matter to Ebay, although all the correspondence is there to see. Therefore there is no item in the Returns Dashboard. So how do I send my buyer a PARTIAL refund? Thanks.
So long as the issue has been resolved the partial refund is the same whatever system you are using, you refund through the original paypal payment.
You say you resolved an issue without going through ebay, that is never a good idea. At the worst you could find yourself making two refunds if you did not deal with a problem correctly.
You aware that you get NO refund of Ebay or Paypal Fees.
Log into PayPal and find the Payment. Expand and select Refund. Carefully change the Full amount to the amount you wish to Refund. Then SEND.
If your buyer paid by Paypal, you can locate the transaction from there, request a refund and there will be an option to set the amount of the refund. If you are on managed payments then refer to your managed payments dashboard I'm pretty sure there is a similar option there also.
