How to reduce shipping costs for low price item(free for buyer) ? What is best courier to use?

I need some help with shipping and postage cost and I apreciate if experienced seller give me some advice about postage and Shipping cost and what is best courier option, as it seems I am getting break even with my seling or if I increase the price,I won't sell.

The item I am selling(not on this account) have a very marginal profit and usually are bulky or better say bad shape/form but light weight. for example Two of my main selling products packaging details are :  (imagine flat piece of cardboards)

1-Width: 37 cm      Height: 1.8cm      Length: 68.5 cm       Weight: 0.875 kg

2-Width: 15.5 cm   Height: 4.5 cm     Length: 57.5 cm       Weight: 0.460 kg

Or some paper rools :

Width: 47.5 cm        Outside diameter: 7.25 cm        Inside diameter: 4cm           Area: 13.50 m²

the products are in low price range ( £6 to £10 ) and I usually buy them in bulk for half of the selling price , for Example I buy a £10 selling product for £4.89 etc.

My compatitor selling this for the same price, but I am not sure how they manage to do that, that is why I think maybe I am using the Wrong courier. We all source from same seller so We pay same amount to pay, but I cannot figure out how they manage to profit, when I struggle to break even. Now if I put the price up, of course I will not sell anymore.

Appreciate if you shed some light.

Thanks

Type "Setting Up your Postage Opticians" into Help and Contact at the top of the Page. There is a Link there to set a Business Seller Policy on Postage, Payments and Returns. As a Business Seller you will need to also add a 30 day Returns Policy to your Listings.

I assume you are registered as a business on your other account, but you also need to do so for this one. A private account is for selling your own unwanted items, you are selling multiple new ones so are trading illegally.
