How can sellers safely sell evouchers on eBAY? I thought the eBAY platform was a "bulletproof" one for selling items but unfortunately in my case their system has been exploited by a con buyer.
I narrowly lost everything after the sale (the buyer got his/her money back from Paypal after filing a false "unauthorised transaction" and the code I sold him/her). I was lucky enough that Amazon refunded the entire value of the voucher to my Amazon account but I might not be so lucky next time.
Any advice?
" I might not be so lucky next time."
As said you cannt sell them, so there should be no next time.
Lucky? Obviously you have not been hit with the £14 fee yet for losing the case.
£14"? It isn't an item "not as described"...it is indeed an item as described. I think that when you ask ebay permission to sell something on their platform and they tell you "yes you can" ....you can indeed list it. I am not starting an argument, I am just telling you that I explored my options before listing it. Regarding the £14 fee you mentioned @plpmr, I found an article that touches what you mentioned (https://www.theguardian.com/money/2019/oct/16/paypal-ebay-fraud-chargeback-seller-protection) but it isn't my case.
Since only physical vouchers are allowed in theory (according to this guideline Vouchers policy | eBay), I think printing them in order to have them shipped to the buyer might be the only option...
evouchers are not covered by the ebay money back guarantee because you are not allowed to sell them on ebay.
