Have recieved 2 Emails saying 39 of my listings contain phone numbers or personal information that doesn't comply with security, policy and listing requirements & will be removed.
Selling Cd's & the only numbers in them are year dates 1994,1995 etc... & Catalogue numbers!
Is this just another Ebay Bot getting carried away? Does an actual human with a brain check these listings or will they be removed?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks,Andy
Hi Andy,
Well you are correct in saying that humans do not check listings generlaly, it is a bot, and usually an ' uneducated one ' at that!
Now this is a stab in the dark and I may be completely wrong, but could the EAN number I saw on your first CD listing, starting with 0802****** confuse the dear bot into thinking it's a phone number 0800 ***** ?
Don't know if this is the answer, do';t know if calling eBay CS will give the definitive answer as to what to do.
So annoying, and as I fear no one really from eBay ( we are members here like yourself!) I bet would be able to clarify the situation.
Is it worth revising that listing and any other with the dangerous 080**** number to keep the bots happy.?
Did the email give the the individual item numbers of those 39 items? Then if they all do have that EAN number starting with that 080 **** that might well be the cause! @andymank1964
Let's hope she's good to her word. Just an idea then, if the item specifics are already filled in, I presume then you are using eBay's library of photos, perhaps those with that ' offending' 0800 number can be listed manually , so you can freely add any item specific yourself? Just a thought, in case of future problems with an over enthusiastic bot sending you out another generic warning ! @andymank1964
