Buyer wants to return a used laptop (weeks after positive feedback) which has been tempered with

Sold a used laptop a few weeks ago, receieved a positive feedback already a few weeks ago also as the buyer stated "very pleased with the laptop". Now a few weeks after the buyer wants a full refund, saying first that the laptop was full of viruses (had a clean install) then at the end of his request he says there is no windows on the laptop and someone he asked to have a look at it says it cannot be installed on it. My problem is that this laptop had definitely been tempered with by 3rd party as he states that multiple times in his request.

I replied back asking for evidence and wanted to contact ebay as it seems to be a proper scam to me, or someone simply messed up and stating lies as the laptop is not how it was described, especially after a positive feedback.

Can someone please advise how to contact ebay or what to do as this request stinks, and what do I do if the laptop has been damaged, as it definitely had been modified.

Thanks in advance,

K

if there was no windows operating system installed, how did they know it was full of viruses, because it would`nt boot up without windows!

As another responder has pointed out your appear to be trading as a unregistered business seller.. This will cause you major problems.. Your buyer can return the computer to you anytime within 12 months from the date of purchase.

The advice has to be get it back, refund all your buyers costs, and hope he doesn't go to trading standards.

You could have a problem here, you are obviously a Business Seller although not registered correctly, and if buyer pushed the point with Trading Standards it could cause trouble for you.

If the Sale was more than a month ago your Buyer cannot open a Returns Case. He had 30 days from Delivery to use the EBay Money Back Guarantee. Tell him he is out of time to Return the Laptop. Then Block him.
