Buyer says item he bought does not work, though it worked fine when we sent it. He has asked for a refund which we are giving as don;t want bad feedback, but doi we have to refund postage as well? In both directions?

Buyer should open a Not as described case, you provide a reply paid label and on return you refund.

 

If the item is low value you can simply refund through the case, but that gives te buyer a freebie, without proof of his claim.

 

DON'T Ignore the case when opened, as the other answer says ebay will do it BUT you get a defect and no refund of selling fee. NEVER let ebay get involved in a case always sort out yourself and protect YOUR account, however much you think the buyer is trying it on.

yes you have to issue a full refund of original amount and reimburse buyer for return cost.

 

if they open a dispute ebay will do it for you.
