I have a collect in person auction ending at 6pm today in UK.
Received a bid v. early this morning from buyer in Poland.
Messaged to remind buyer (new? no history or rep) that item is collection, not shipped.
Now have messages wondering if I can drive the items to friends in London, then later maybe deliver to Corby (150 mile round trip). I can't, just a private seller with a bad back.
If this bid stays and wins then the whole auction is void and I need to get fees refunded etc.
So: If buyer cannot/will not retract their bid can I block them at this late stage so that the auction can properly complete?
Any suggestions gratefully received, I'm not an experienced seller.
Your best just cancelling thier bid the now and add them to your blocked list.
As if you were to leave them on your aution chances are that they might win & pay with paypal, and if you were to then cacnel the listing after payment there would be a 50% chance that you wont getr the selling fee back.
I think you should just take the advice already given to you - ie: cancel the buyer's bid and add his/her User ID to your Blocked Bidders List. If you were to allow the Polish buyer's bid to stand and he/she ended up winning the auction then you could find yourself in a whole lot of bother with regards to the fact that the buyer has asked you to deliver the items for him/her. If you did indeed find yourself in a position whereby this bidder had won the auction then I suppose you could cancel the sale, citing the reason why as "The buyer is asking for something that was not advertised in the listing" - ie: personal delivery to the buyer - but then again, why risk letting yourself in for all of that aggravation when you could so easily avoid it in the first place by cancelling the Polish bidder's bid and adding his/her User ID to your Blocked Bidders List?
you can cancel their bid[s] and then block them.
