Accidentally Clicked free delivery for a new listing and couldn't find a way to change it at the time so put in large letters collection only on bottom of listing. Big item. Bidder told me he had put a bid on for free delivery. I told him it was collection only as stated at bottom of listing and if he wanted could cancel his bid. He keeps bidding and eventually is the winning bidder and asks for delivery. It's a 45 gallon water tank and would cost over £50 to deliver. I sent another message explaining it was to big to send and would refund his money which I did. He then gets stroppy and says he will report me to ebay for refunding his money without his permission. I realise I made a mistake and did my best to sort it out though I did not know how to change it once live. How does it work in these situations? Am I being unreasonable?
Everything you need to know about selling on Ebay, inluding how to edit or end a listing, is in the Seller Centre (link at foot of any page). You also have the Help pages with their integral search to refer to (links at top and foot of any page).
You really need to get into the habit of carefully checking your listing details before hitting the 'Submit' button, and immediately afterwards, otherwise your Ebay selling days won't last long.
