I have been an ebay private seller since it's inception in the 90's. I have only ever had 2 issues in all that time which turned out to be due to the buyers and not the sellers. I would really like to know why ebay is now trying to squeeze out private sellers with all the new postage restrictions. I feel like I'm being treated like a 3 year old where they have to hold my hand through everything. I received a printed label from them and it had my old address as the return address on the label even though it has the correct address on the site. I emailed about this and was told i would receive a reply within 48 hours. Doesn't help much as I had to get item out so i mailed it out myself and paid the postage which i was then refunded by email as a one off. Sold something else and exact same thing happened except I never got a reply and, once again, had to mail out the item myself again. 4 days later i received a Yodel label (which was 4 days too late) to use but still no reply from ebay itself.
The problem is that when ebay started in the 90's it banned Chinese sellers so as not to flood the market. Obviously greed has got the better of it and they now give priority to these Chinese companies. I click on the UK only button when buying but all the Chinese sites still come up but now saying UK stock. Why is ebay protecting all these companies and squeezing out the private buyers who were their lifeline when they started the company? I have now stopped selling on ebay which is a shame as it used to be a great site - the best out there.
