Concern About Indefinite Suspension & Inadequate Support for Pakistani Sellers

Hello eBay UK Community,

I’ve been a committed and long-time seller on eBay UK since 2011, with a strong track record and a history of positive feedback. Unfortunately, my account was recently suspended indefinitely—without prior warning and without any clear explanation of what policy, if any, was violated.

What’s even more troubling is the complete lack of proper support for sellers like myself. As a Pakistani passport holder, I’ve found that all support channels appear to be routed through India, which is evidently the first-line support partner for eBay in the region. Due to the tense relations between Pakistan and India, this setup has real-world implications. The support representatives seem disinterested, dismissive, and unwilling to genuinely listen or help resolve issues. It feels like concerns raised by Pakistani users are routinely brushed aside.

I know for a fact that dozens of other sellers from Pakistan have faced similar account suspensions—often without any real policy violations. There seems to be a systematic failure in how support cases are being handled, particularly those originating from Pakistani nationals.

I respectfully urge the eBay UK team to investigate what their regional support partners are doing, and how such actions are impacting long-standing, loyal sellers. Many of us have invested years building our businesses on eBay, and this level of treatment is disheartening.

We ask for fairness, transparency, and a support system that is free from bias or political influence.

Thank you for your time and attention.
– A concerned seller since 2011

You talk speak about "Pakistani Sellers" but you are a registered UK business seller.

Are you suggesting that you and others are getting unfair treatment from eBay based on Pakistani nationality?

Yes, exactly. This is something that has been consistently observed.

I, along with several friends from Pakistan who also sell on eBay, have noticed a clear pattern. Whenever we raise a ticket or try to contact eBay support, the responses almost always come from team members based in India.

While we understand that eBay may have outsourced its regional support to India, the unfortunate reality is that due to the sensitive political relationship between the two countries, we often feel that our concerns are not treated fairly or seriously. There’s a noticeable lack of empathy, and in many cases, no real attempt to resolve the issue—especially in situations involving account suspensions without clear justification.

We’re simply asking for neutral, fair treatment and for our cases to be reviewed objectively—regardless of nationality.

We find that if you contact ebay first thing then you are more likely to get Dublin, but there is no way that ebay are going to have a special contact route for Pakistani nationals to avoid the Indian call centres.

I am curious as to how the CS rep knows your nationality if you are contacting them from a UK account?

Perhaps the suspensions are due to failing the KYC checks by not having UK ID?

I don't think the fact you are from Pakistan would have any bearing on the support you get from ebay. You get the same issues irregardless of nationality.

I appreciate your input, and I understand that many sellers from different backgrounds can face issues with eBay support—this isn't being denied.

However, I’m speaking from direct, repeated experience, and from conversations with multiple Pakistani sellers who’ve experienced the same pattern. While everyone may face challenges with eBay support, there seems to be a specific bias or dismissiveness when it comes to Pakistani nationals, especially when the first-line support is consistently coming from a region with which there are known political tensions.

We're not asking for special treatment—we're asking for fair, unbiased, and professional handling of our cases, based on facts and policy, not background. If everything was truly equal, we wouldn’t be seeing so many accounts from Pakistan suspended with little to no explanation, even when seller performance is solid.

This may not reflect everyone’s experience, but it's very real for us—and it deserves to be looked into.

An indefinite suspension is just that, and final I'm afraid.

CS agents cannot discuss nor remove indefinite suspensions I've heard.

8 Negative and 23 neutral feedback in the last 12 months has seen your feedback drop to 96.6%, plus the 13 revisions... it's too much really isn't it, with so many comments citing non-delivery, cancellations and wrong items sent?

I wouldn't consider your account to have "a strong track record and a history of positive feedback" with such a low feedback score, and it would seem eBay agree, global politics notwithstanding.
