App cannot access my photo gallery on phone

Everything was fine until today. 

Im using Samsung S20 FE

The app cannot access my photo gallery so I'm unable to list anything unless I go on a browser.

What's happened, and when will our be fixed? 

Up until this morning, it worked fine. 

I've uninstalled app, rebooted phone, reinstalled app - but no joy!!

Thank you for your post.

There is a ticket open with tech for not being able to access  albums in the gallery when trying to attach photos to listings. It seems to only allowing access to a limited number. They are currently working on this to resolve.

Hope it gets sorted soon.  A lot of the photos I use are from a few years ago so not being able to whizz (fast scrolling!) down to right date very quickly is driving me up the wall. I'm having to find the photos in my Gallery, screenshot them one at a time to so that when I go back into eBay 'Add Photos', where the screenshots appear at the top so I can add them to the listing. And then I have to back into Gallery to delete the screenshots so they're not taking up valuable storage space!

Thank you for your post.

It is with the tech team but we don't have a timescale on the fix for this. Once there is an update on a fix I will update the threads where this has been reported.  As a workaround you can use a web browser to log into the full site and upload your photos through there.

This is still not working.  Four months, no solution and no time frame as to when it will be fixed.  How does Ebay think this is acceptable?  As for the recommended "work around", if I wanted to list via my laptop I would.  I want to use my app.

I completely agree, it's been too long. I have found a better 'workaround' though. If you select the photos you want to upload and move them to one of the albums that eBay does show, you can find them more easily. I moved them to downloads. Hope that may help a little while we are still waiting!

It's now August and this is STILL an issue. I have 30k images in my camera folder. Why can't I select photos from my "ebay" folder. I will leave 1 star feedback for the app. Maybe if their metrics take a dent they'll fix it.

It is now September and i still have the same issue. Can not access my whole gallery on the phone. Is there any way to fix this?

Hello. I am having the opposite problem, in that my whole photo gallery is available and the albums are no longer visible. This is making listing, near impossible for me, because I am having to scroll through thousands of photos.

To clarify I list on my laptop but use the upload photos from mobile option. This is the way I have always listed and is the only way I am able to. I did post about this in August but had no response.

Hai.. yes.. it is actually the same. I can not locate my albums on the phone gallery, instead every pictures is in the one place.. so whenever I try looking for specific pic (which I have already separate in separate album) could not found easily, as I need to scroll way down for it.

I have install the app on 2 of my phone. One is iPhone, and the pic directory is working just fine, I can easily look from any album I have.

Another one is on Android phone, and since a couple months before, I am starting to have this difficulties.

Thank you for your posts.

The issue open with tech is based on not having access to all albums when selecting photos. It shows all photos in one place. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. We continue to link in with the tech team but we don't have a set timescale for the resolution.

In the meantime users can upload photos through the desktop or you can use some of the workarounds other users have mentioned below

1.  Select the photos you want to upload and move them to one of the albums that eBay does show, you can find them more easily. An example would be moving them to downloads. 

2. Screenshot the photos one at a time to so that when you go back into eBay 'Add Photos', where the screenshots appear at the top so you can add them to the listing.
