Just had a long email from eBay telling me the advantages of the new "simple delivery" system.
One of which is will be less expensive for me to send items - however, their stated cost of a label is 30p more than I currently pay! So how can this be better for me.
There is also the cost of the packaging materials, which I factor into what I charge the buyer, none of this would be covered so again this will not be a better option for me, and no doubt all the other private sellers out there.
The rest of the benefits they list are already in place, with a hint that we will get paid faster!
There are also a lot of people out there in the community that don't have easy access to parcel shops etc due to location or disability - who is going to help them.
They also offer a link to the benefits of a business account - why? Is this to try and get people over to paying for their listings. I use my private account for selling personal items and I already have a business account which I use for my business but each listing costs me for a month's airing, not at all useful when some of my personal items have been relisted several times before selling. Before you know it you are almost giving the items away.
Finally, in their email:
"If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch from the bottom of this page—we’re here to help"
The link they give takes you to their help pages - not at all helpful...

I had a problem printing a label via Simply Delivery which to this moment is still not sorted . I then spent nearly a hour explaining what you have just added to this post , after being told how much easier it is for all off the private sellers . I was then told my feedback would be passed onto the correct people but my guess is nothing will be done . My feeling is all off the customer service people have been given a script to read from . ebay maybe charging the buyer £3.12 for a 1kg parcel but by the time you have added the good old VAT on top it is still 40p more than buying it at the local post office . What i fail to understand is how a 2kg parcel is 40p more than the 1kg parcel when at my local post office it is the same price if you put it inside a certain size box . My local post office told me the parcel I dropped off yesterday was clast as a medium parcel where under the normal postal system it was a small parcel . I am afraid it is just away off making more money when times are hard enough already .
