So now we have more complicated changes to the so wrongly named simple delivery..Does anybody understand this so not simple situation we are all having forced upon us? I for one used to find just taken my sold items to the post office far more simple . But i suppose it does not really matter to most private sellers now because thanks to simple delivery and buyer protection we will probably never sell anything again. EBAY have so got this all wrong and should be ashamed at the way they are treating us all.

I'm imagining a think tank of eBay employees trying to come up with a name and some bright spark coming up with the ironic title of 'Simple Delivery'. Boom.

The idea may have been great on the whitebiard

in reality it’s all very complicated

I to this day do not know a) why they launched it in some rubbish beta version and seemingly just hoped for the best but knowing they didn’t actually know what they were doing or worse not giving a monkeys and letting people struggle through it

and b) why they can’t get it right months later still

😐🥸 🤷🏼‍

I also suspect that whichever team/thinktank/idea dept came up with it has never ever or hardly sold anything at all. They are also limited to ‘standard’ goods that travel in parcels. It never occurred to them that people sell little bits of paper or a farmhouse kitchen sink. They need delivery services from light letters to personally delivered items. I have discovered this evening on business account that ebay is telling my buyers Im sending large letters (Im not) and in active listings my stamps have the choices of standard : small to medium, Freight : large items that require special handling and no postage : collection in person. They have translated small as a large letter in my case, which it is not as under 100g. Considering simple delivery whereby large letters are included, I can see tinkering in the background ready for a business launch and it had better be optional if that is the case.

I don't understand all of the new private sellers policy changes, so I've taken off all of my listings (except one, sarcastic item) and have spent my weekends throwing away all of the used cardboard I was saving for parcels. I still have a drawer full of stamps that I'll be struggling to use.

eBay is only now useful for business sellers, but I have recently started going directly to their business websites whenever I wish to purchase anything.

I just can't be bothered with eBay anymore.

There are other places you can sell if you wish although in my area, Ive seen more ads for yard/drive/garage sales at individual’s homes.

We live in a house crammed with ‘stuff’. The last few years including recent has seen the deaths of almost a whole family (our small family has got much smaller) and we have acquired, 2 fathers, 2 grandfathers, 3 grandmothers and a mother’s belongings. Despite much being donated to charity we have a loft and a large storage unit full of things we can sell with much of the proceeds going into savings for our kids who are trying to get onto the property ladder. Ebay was my go to since I have my business here (best traffic for my items) so it made sense to flip between IDs. The private ID has become more time consuming despite selling less and less items. The effort is requiring me to look at alternatives
