Title says it all. If you sell an oversize item on "Simple" delivery, you have to use DHL eCommerce. Their Trustpilot rating is 1.1 (on a scale from 1 to 5) with over 600 reviews.

That trustpilot rating is for a website that simply redirects to dhl.com
So you have 600 people who have reviewed a website that doesn’t exist.
DHL Express UK for example has 3.9 as a rating.

The reviews are for the delivery service, not the quality of their website! You get redirected because the eCommerce part of DHL is for businesses, not "ordinary" customers.
Did you look at https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.dhlecommerce.co.uk
I actually posted on the DHL Trustpilot page and they replied that my parcel was handled by dhlecommerce and I should repost the comment in the right place.

Given that trustpilot profile is unclaimed, yet others relating to DHL have been claimed, indicates it’s a profile that is irrelevant to DHL.

Interesting. Still, my point remains valid. If you sell a large item on "simple" delivery, the service eBay has chosen to use is rated at 1.1 stars by 650 people. I imagine DHL don't monitor it because their e-commerce customers are big businesses so don't pay it lip service.

That isn't correct. DHL eCommerce UK is their standard next day service whereas DHL Express is more focused on time critical deliveries. Both services are available to individuals as well as businesses.

Sigh. The point remains the same. DHLeCommerce is what eBay forces you to use for large items, and at least 600 people have used that service and rated it 1 out of 5 stars. I agree as they have now missed 2 collections (and you are forced to have the item collected) and keep lying about why, saying the "premises were closed" which is funny as the collection is from our house which has not been empty for about 10 days now.

This thread has been hijacked by nit-picking ebay agents. What you say in the original post is informative to me. Just had massive problems trying to list an item which won't go in the usual small or medium parcel options.

Interesting - but note that claimed profile for DHL has about 22000 reviews and the rating is 1.2.
Bottom line remains the same - the service eBay force you to use for large items is terrible. Repeatedly. Again and again.

Interesting. I assumed the eCommerce was not for general use based on the claim of jonatjonatjonat who said the eCommerce website redirected to DHL, but now I have checked for myself it seems jonatjonatjonat made that up. Not sure why he wants to defend eBay/DHLeCommerce - does he work for them? I noticed also that when I went through tracking, the eCommerce website would only allow certain types of customer to use live chat, and it looked like you had to be a big business operator to get that privilege. I thought their customer service was bad originally because they don't deal with ordinary customers, but now I've learned they are an open service, my opinion has gone down even further!

Who should they be using in your opinion then?

Someone I choose.
That would be Simple.

Evri have 4.2 on Trustpilot so they would work right? Because they have a good TrustPilot score? In fact Evri have acquired DHL e-commerce so hopefully their service will improve.

Again, the point here is that the Trustpilot rating backs up my experience with this service, that I was forced to use by the "simple" delivery system.

And the 'simple' answer would be to register as a business seller and use the courier of your choice.

Thought about it, then saw the costs. Not really worth it for a £10 item....
