I guess like lots of other private sellers on here, I am not happy for Ebay to charge nearly twice the amount for a tracked delivery service with Royal Mail than I can charge at cost.
We have already been banned from sending combined invoices (where I always charge postage at actual cost), so really fail to understand Ebay's logic of "saving the buyer money" with this new process.
My question is if I offer "Free Postage - seller pays", do I still get charged for Ebay's extortionate label if I don't use it, but use my own Royal Mail tracking instead? I guess like many others I will be off to pastures new if this is the case.
Unlike some, I am lucky that I hardly sell anything on here these days - so many poorly implemented and untested changes, then back-tracking when they fall flat on their face, then even more poorly thought out schemes (often leaving the seller on their own to fathom out and deal with the fallout from disgruntled buyers following each "improvement" has really killed this site.
If Ebay and their programmers had had the foresight to consult (and actively listen to the people who actually used their site) before implementing their poorly thought-out schemes, then I am sure that Ebay would be making a lot more money than they are - and after all, that is their main aim of the game.

I’m the same as you and I offer free postage.
For 90% of sales I used Royal Mail 48 hour that costs £3.39.
Postman collects and brings a label.
This has worked well for the last 2 years plus.
For gold coin sales I used special delivery and same as above.
ebay will be losing my customer as a seller and buyer if I can’t do above.

I've just received an email from eBay re simple delivery. This is what it says:
Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.
Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience
Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.
Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.
Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.
Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking, so buyers always know where their items are, and you get your funds faster.
Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.
Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales.
The bit about automatic positive feedback is new to me
