not had this before after buying quite a large number of books from me Ebay sent them a direct message suggesting further books they might want . It was unsigned or apparent it was from ebay and had nothing to do with me. I am upset as now appear to be a pushy seller to this buyer and now dread the feedback when the seller receives thr actual books they bought today Is this new ebay behaviour??

ALL Ebay messages have their logo on the left hand side. Messages from users have a letter in a coloured circle or their profile picture.
Message your buyer and ask them about the first message if you want to clear it up.

How you you know that Ebay sent a message to your buyer?
If they did, it probably said something like ' as you purchased ... you may also like....'

ebay, being a business quite like it if you buy more from them.
I doubt it was necessarily your books you were selling in the email, could be just here are books available on ebay in general

the buyer repmied to me saying no thanks .Thats how i know , The point of my message is this new behaviour from Ebay and if so they should be transparent and not use my inbox to sell more stuff

That's not from Ebay. It looks like both messages are from your buyer and in the second, they changed their mind.

I agree that the tone of the messages sounds like it's ebay writing to your buyer, and then your buyer responding, but it's a bit odd that the ID icon is the same for both messages, making it look as if they both come from your buyer. I don't believe the buyer wrote both messages though. The buyer is clearly turning down the suggestion, and the way it reads doesn't make sense if they made the suggestion in the first place.
I see the first message was sent at 12.47 and the reply was sent at 12.50. At what time was the sale?

If that's what ebay have done, and I'm inclined to believe that's how the messages read, I agree it's totally unacceptable to use the seller's own account to send such messages to a buyer. If they want to contact your buyer with suggestions, they should email from their own address.
Incidentally it would really annoy me to get messages like that every time I bought something from an online organisation. It would definitely put me off buying from them.

They both have B next to them, assume the buyers user ID began with a B?
if so that would suggest the buyer sent you two slightly random messages.

Looks to me like your buyer sent both messages - mentioned that another book you have looked interesting, then decided that the one they bought was enough.
Or, if that's not your book they mention in the second message it doesn't mean to say that the message was sent from you, just that they mistakenly replied to you.
