You're not being picked on, with 7 billion plus listing on for sale,  eBay cannot check each and every one, so some slip the net and become listed.

What was the item?  The usual reason for an item being removed,  is that it breached a Vero regulation.  You can read about Vero from s link at the bottom of any eBay page.

This also is eBay's answer to  Why was my listing removed/hidden when similar listings are still active?

If your listing is removed or hidden by eBay, you may see similar listings still active on the site. This could be for a few reasons:

There may be differences between the two listings that aren't obvious
The other seller may be a rights owner or authorised retailer of the item
A participant in the VeRO Program may have asked us to remove your listing but hasn't requested the other listing be taken down. These types of removals are only done at the request of the VeRO participant, and aren't eBay's decision. Read more about the VeRO Program
Your listing was reported to us, but the other listing wasn't.

Yours was probably removed because someone reported it......the others so far have prob not been reported or ebay are looking at the other listings.

Thankyou but it is extremely frustrating when you see 30 or 40 identical items listed for sale !

Yes,  cannot disagree there, but it's a behemoth of a site, there's always going to be some listings which have not been spotted and reported like yours was.

When they are,  and if they  break a selling reg.  they too,  will be removed.

eBay rely on members to report listings,  too.  There's a report button down the right hand side of every listing.

eBay removed my listing despite 30 identical ones being still visible

People in this thread are being much too forgiving of ebay.

Example: a few months ago I listed a broken tiny spy camera.  Ebay removed my listing and pointed out what I hadn't realised, that spy cameras are banned on the site.  OK, fair enough (even though I'm baffled that they ban them, but that's their choice).

So how come I can put 'spy camera' into search and even today see 1,700+ listings?  If someone felt like doing their job, couldn't they go through and remove them as well?  And, based on past experience, if you try reporting some of those listings, there's a high probability they won't even get removed.

No wonder the original poster in this thread is puzzled and feels picked on.  I completely empathise.
