I noticed last week, I now get an inbox message when an auction doesn't sell. For once, I was hoping it was one of eBays many glitches. Unfortunately, it appears to be a design feature. I use the word "design" in its very loosest of terms here.
Why do this..? I know it didn't sell because I watched it not sell. It also appears in my "Unsold" listings and also, somewhat strangely, in my "Ended" listings, even though it wasn't ended. I also get an "it didn't sell" email. It didn't sell - I know this through various means.
I don't need my messages inbox cluttering up with information I already know. Please apply a little tiny bit of common sense and stop this utter nonsense.
It would really help if you could concentrate your resources on fixing the multiple bugs, glitches and process anomalies rather than appearing to try your very best to irritate sellers even further than you already have done with the postage debacle.

Well, the kiddies in the programming office have to change something by Friday to justify their wages. Doesn’t matter if it’s helpful—just as long as it looks like progress.

Go to Selling Activity and de-select the messages you don't want to receive.

Thank you, I'd forgotten about that. That setting wasn't selected anyway (can't be one of those eBay bugs, surely..!) but I've tried a few more tweaks so we'll see what happens.

I did wonder, it was worth a try.
One of the things that really bugs me with Ebay is the way they play fast and loose with your settings. When they change certain things your setting go back to default. I like to have a custom message to the buyer on my invoices, because I dislike all their pre-set messages. I would never use an exclamation mark and would never "hope you love it!" I might "hope you like it." But regularly, and I do mean regularly, I find my custom message has disappeared and been replaced by one written by a hyper active child. Or an American. ☹️
