I’ve been selling on eBay (seriously) coming up to a year now. Switched to a business account towards the end of 2024, sales last summer were booming, I was doing great! This year I’ve not even made £2000 in sales. I’m listing x 3 per day. I’m now ending and re listing everything too, making small changes each time to try and get the algorithm to catch me again. I cannot understand why I’m getting basically no sales!!
Anyone in a similar situation? I’ve made more on Vinted this year than I have EBay. Am thinking of just moving everything there… any thoughts welcome!

You could just use the search filter so only results from business sellers are shown.
However, I still don't understand what the problem is. Let's assume you were planning to buy something and would not ordinarily care whether the seller is a business or a private seller (BPF aside). You see two sellers; one is a business seller the other is a private seller. The private seller's price is lower than the business seller's price - would you now choose to buy from the business seller on principle even though you would be paying more?

That's why; this forum doesn't reflect changes in a user's store URL immediately. The link should be this (using your new username).
Don't worry; there is nothing wrong with your account but any links containing your old username will no longer work. I believe the forum link will update eventually.

Problem could be that you are listing trainers for sale.
Ebay have totally different rules for trainers due to problems with counterfeits

Thank you! I’ve just spoken to eBay who were not aware of the delay in my user name not transferring here, but that’s fine, kind of a non issue. But they also couldn’t really tell me why my sales have been so *bleep* as I’m doing all the basics. The only advice was to add more items, which I will keep trying over the next couple of months but I am worried, I know I won’t be making thousands but im a stay at home mum just trying to contribute and I won’t be able to the way things are going!

All the OP's listings are live and appear in search results.

Why would that be a problem? Lots of people sell trainers and it’s what I was selling last year with no issues, that’s why I’m concerned as it was all going so well!

Although I doubt the figures are wholly accurate if you look in your active items the "Views" and "Watchers" columns are often a good indication of potential buyer interest. However, retail sales are down generally as lots of people have been hit with increases to their Council Tax, energy bills and water bills along with the usual "new financial year" price increases that affect lots of goods and services.

Absolutely, seems we’re all in the same boat of having to watch what we spend with it all on the increase. Tough times
