Yea eBay, it's not going well.

A few days ago I asked a seller to send me an offer of £70 if they accept so I could then pay by Klarna. If I make the offer and they accept, the auto insta we want the money now payment method doesn't do klarna so you can't do it that way.

Today the seller said they apologise for only just seeing the message and agreed to £70 if I still wanted it. I said yes. They sent me the offer. 1

a few days ago, I didnt know about buyer protection and made my offer genuinely £70 + p&p and there was a pay by klarna deal £5 off. Things are tight so stretching £70 over 3 months is doable.

Now the added on charges and the missing klarna deal have both ruined this deal. I dont have the extra money.

I wonder if you had resent your offer of £70 if the fees would have been included?

I do think offers are a mess ATM.

I also think that instant payments come with downsides as they limit buyer payment choice (and delivery address choice).

Re: Yea eBay, it's not going well.

All you can really do here is to not go ahead by accepting the offer unless your seller turns off the feature in their eBay account settings that requires immediate payment with Best Offer.

Klarna and voucher codes can't be used in this instance, you just don't get the opportunity to select Klarna or add a voucher code, the payment is taken instantly upon acceptance.

If this is a one-off item you could ask the seller to change the price rather than sending you an offer...
