Hi, I have just moved to a Business account and paying £27 to list.
I had 600 items on and the new £27 allows 250 lots per month.
Then 10p I think. Also I think there is commission now as well.
Are these Renewing items all counted as New listings each month?
If so I will need to remove most of them as they are low value and will need to stay below 250 which is a shame. If they are I think I will have to rethink the shop aspect.
Trying to see what advantage there is paying £27 for so much less than a Private Seller.
Thanks in advance.

You also get an auction allowance so best use that as well so your maximising
Anything BIN will relist at the and of its 30days and count towards the months allowance the allowance start at the beginning of the month.
So any that crossed over will begin once they end then get knocked off your total the seller hub is a good pace to start and keep an eye on your totals.

A basic shop is £32.40 once VAT is added

yes anything over the free 250 listings will cost you an extra 12p to list but you do get free aution listings too, maybe you could auction some?

Well you are complying with consumer law and you are also not subject to the new buyer protection fees or payment holds.

Thanks for the info.
Ouch.
I sell mainly my own collection, lots of cheap DVDs and a few bits I have bought.
So will have to cancel most of my listings as just not economical, once you add a 30p sales fee I ahve just read about and 10% commission.
Lots of things to consider.
Thanks again.

A lot of your listing are still including the private seller/buyers fee. You will need to update your returns policies to 14 - 30 days as they are still showing no returns. The buyer fee will then come off of your listings.

£32.40 for basic shop!
That's far too expensive.
I think £15 a month (inc. vat) would be a more reasonable figure for a small seller with low sales such as myself. I would like this price if anyone eBay connected is listening.

It is good to read a post where the seller switching to a business account has actually grasped the fee structure and knows what they are signing up to.
It makes sense to streamline your listings to stay within the basic shop allowances by dropping the listings that aren’t worth paying extra fees for. I personally would list those elsewhere where there are no listing fees or sell them to media buyers like World of Books (Ziffit), WeBuyBooks and Music Magpie if they make fair offers. That would be better for you than upgrading to a featured eBay shop at the moment.

Wouldn't we all!
Welcome to the world of business sellers. And don't forget the final value fees we pay.
Someone on another thread is moaning that they cant sell their brand new spark plugs anymore with the buyers fee added, to compete with business sellers. They didn't know how lucky they were!

Hi, you can still have a private account for your own stuff, albeit subject to the buyer fee. Take these items off and see whether your shop will work for you then. Unfortunately you can't switch them back, you will have to relist them.

That is a good idea.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, ebay are a business and only interested in making as much money as possible. They're not interested in what users consider fair and reasonable, only in earning the maximum that they think they can get away with. When they push one fee to the max, they just introduce another one or another way of charging to continually increase their revenue.
So you have upfront listing fees, shop subscriptions, final value fees, international fees, regulatory operating fees, promoted listing fees, advanced promoted listing fees, promoted shop fees, offsite promotion fees, final value fees on postage, final value fees on taxes collected by ebay from buyers and now buyer "protection" fees plus payment holds for private sellers which I believe earns them interest. The fee structure is now so complex that it's nigh on impossible for sellers to accurately calculate their margins.
Incidentally, on the US site you do get far more for far less money in their shop subscription packages. I think (but I may be wrong) that ebay UK gives the least value for money in the shop packages.

Basic $21.95/month with annual subscription or $27.95/month without

10,000/month additional free fixed price listings in selected categories 59.95/month with annual subscription or $74.95/month without

Wow the USA ebay gives so much more. The UK in looking at it closely is so expensive, for me too expensive for what I mainly sell. The 250 limit and 30p basic transaction is the killer, rather than the commission or the shop fee.
I think I was very hasty going for the business account.
I was about to revert back my main account to a personal and open a smaller business account so I could separate the transactions.
Looks like you can't change from a business to personal.
Is there a way of exporting items to a new account?
Thanks for all the help so far.

I don’t believe you can. Maybe a 3rd party software would be able to help do it but I’ve got no experience with that.
The issue with this question about the personal / business split is nobody is likely to condone it, it is a taboo issue on this forum.
One upside of paying for the business account is it makes you a lot more discerning about what you list and longer term that can be beneficial and help you grow.

Apologies @collectablesmix1 I missed the post where you said most of the items are personal possessions. So ignore my above post, it is too late for me to edit it.
