Why is eBay using Evri as couriers ? they are the worst courier firm

Their ratings as a company is really bad

They have lost 2 of my parcels as I was forced to use Evri via this new simple delivery protocols

I tried to call and email them but am met with bots on both ends

Royal Mail special service is way better

Nort sure why eBay is making it so difficult for sellers and buyers.

I've had more than double the issues with Royal mail.

You need to look up how to claim through Packlink.

Whilst I think Evri are pretty bad as a courier, two out of three purchases I have made via ebay and sent Royal Mail have not turned up, I think there is a gradual worsening of all courier services as we slip into third world status as a nation.

You can opt out of using Evri or RM here:

Nope.

In the S.D. system, it's Evri or RM , or both...

On paper Evri sounds like a good choice, with widespread (if not total) national coverage, send & receive lockers accessible 24/7 in urban areas, door-to-door as it collects parcels from homes most days via booked appointments, and is partner with 3K+ post office branches. This brings Evri's total drop-off points to over 10K nationwide. [googled using three search engines and an AI search engine.]

But that's on paper, that's all. More important are competence, quality of customer service, and customer satisfaction, and anyone who's had problems with Evri are saying "ha ha" to those.

Evri has a bad rep for many Reasons (every lost, damaged or stolen parcel or a parcel "successfully" delivered into a hedge is a "Reason"), but eBay has ignored that and gone with the "on paper" advantages. eBay probably figures that those sellers and buyers who leave due to persistent Evri delivery problems will be replaced by new ones and/or that the profit eBay presumably makes from its deal with Evri is more important to eBay than happy customers.

Their Trust Pilot is remarkably positive, especially vs Royal Mail

I have had way more issues with RM than I have with Evri - both as a seller and a buyer.
This morning I did the chat with Evri about an item that was delayed and should have been delivered yesterday. It was delivered by this afternoon. There was also the option to ring them, so I'm not sure why people say you can't get hold of them.

Surely thats not your problem anymore.

I might be wrong but your buyer purchased the postage from eBay and eBay purchased the service from Evri.

Isn't it supposed to be eBay that chases up Evri when a package goes astray.

All you did was package it up and hand it over.  Once scanned its got nothing to do with you apart from its contents.

Isn't that what Simple Delivery is about?
