Hi,
Sorry, yet another simple delivery query, specifically when an item has been identified as a large letter, but it is fact definitely a small parcel. Not wanting to mess the buyer about, if I then simply pay to send it at the post office counter as a parcel myself, will I be able to mark the item as dispatched if I don't use (i.e. print out) the simple delivery postage label ? (And yes, I understand essentially postage is being paid twice). Secondly, and more importantly, if I ignore the simple delivery postage, will I receive the sale money in 14 days, as was the case previously ?
Reading through all the posts, I understand if a simple delivery postage label is not used, it will be refunded after 30 days ? I can take the loss there, but, the last thing I want, is to send the item out, and have the actual item payment, either frozen in limbo and never going into my account, or eventually being refunded to the buyer automatically, because I didn't use simple delivery.
I figure with simple delivery being up and running for a while now, someone must have encountered this scenario. I also understand the post office has been instructed to provide some 'flexibility' with simple delivery, but my local is definitely not having it, lol. Rules are rules, for them.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is kind enough to reply.

Thank you for your response and advice to my question. Thankfully I am not out of pocket too much this time. EBay is making changes that take a while to absorb. They seem to be making things more complicated for private sellers and buyers alike.
I ended having to use SD, on another parcel, and it worked fine. Sadly it will probably affect business revenue for my local village Post Office, which I feel is a much needed asset to the community. They cannot compete with SD price. I have opted to use Royal Mail as no local Evri drop off point.

many post offices and convience store now take evri, commission small staff told me. personally I think Simple delivery is great. Its quick and from experience much cheaper than going through my evri account plus the label is generated, goods tracked and any issues ebay refund. I opt in for both ebay prefered couriers, posting can double if just set to one, always set to buyer pays and select correct weight and size.

It's just another example of eBay telling us what we can and can't do. They are control freaks, all they do is over complicate everything and cause unnecessary grief , chaos and confusion. eBay are getting far too big for their boots and must, of course, be obeyed or else. I always posted next day, never charged more than it cost me and always sent Royal Mail Tracked and Signed For. But now suddenly that is not good enough and it is not worth the extra hassle of not bothering with Simple Postage.

Same here. I'm busy trying to sort both house and large garden for putting on the market next year. I have both parents belongings to find new homes for and, reluctantly, having to downsize my own collection of books and sort through my own belongings. I haven't the 'spare' time to make sure any listing is okay, that the postage is right, to get in touch with anyone if there are errors, etc, etc. I don't think my nerves could take all this, and I am a fairly laid back individual.
It's a shame cos I was a good seller, everything was straightforward, and I never had a case bought against me. The only negative I got was yonks ago from a seller as a retaliation for my neutral over a mucky book described as new.
I visit the boards now and then in the hope that something has changed positively only to find that Ebay is still in murky waters.
