Website issues

Anyone else seeing any issues getting into Ebay on Chrome?

No problems with Firefox, but I keep getting access denied.

Re: Website issues

My default browser is Firefox, but sometimes I use Chrome if I want to do a cookie/cache-less search that doesn't take my history into account.  Ebay on Chrome was OK for me earlier, but it's gone again, I get "access denied".  It's probably ebay's ongoing technology challenges that it's had since yesterday.

Re: Website issues

edge has started to work but chrome gives this message now

Pardon our interruption...

As you were browsing eBay, something about your browser made us think you were a bot. There are a few reasons this might happen:

  • You're a power user moving through this website with super-human speed.
  • You've disabled JavaScript in your web browser.
  • A third-party browser plugin, such as Ghostery or NoScript, is preventing JavaScript from running

Re: Website issues

Just had the same message on Edge. Looks like eBay have some severe problems at present.

Re: Website issues

Yes I am getting the same message in Firefox today and Edge isn't working either.  At the weekend I couldn't get any photographs to display.  The site is becoming hard work recently and I'm getting close to just leaving for good.

Re: Website issues

Hi I was been trying to buy an item on eBay earlier but it gave me the same thing:  I'm a bot or javacript or something.  I eventually managed to get it.

But I needed to print off labels tonight and could not get on despite refreshing Firefox.

The only way I managed to get around it just now was to log on through the Discussion Boards.  That way it let me get onto the normal log in page.  Hope this helps for you until they get the spanner out of the works!

So go onto Discussion Boards, log in there then under Profile got to My eBay.  Good luck!

Re: Website issues

This happened to me at 11:30 last night whilst sending invoices.  Nearly 24 hours later cannot log in on either Edge or Google Chrome on either laptop used in the business.

I am only getting access through an iPad which had a page already open, however I cannot run a business on an old iPad.  21 items require posting tomorrow.  I am considering cancelling all orders and closing my account on here tomorrow as I am sick and tired of trying to maintain a business on this rapidly failing platform with its constant foul-ups.

kat@ebay , marco@ebay can one of you please put a rocket under someone to get this fixed pronto, or Private Message me with the contact details of someone senior enough to do something and I will speak to them direct.

For the record, after 20+ years you should know I am not a bot, nor am I a power user moving through the website with super-human speed!  Neither have I disabled JavaScript, nor are any third party browser plugins preventing JavaScript from running.

A previous CEO at eBay once publicly stated to shareholders and investors that he was *bleep**d off with the constant technical failures on eBay; that was years ago and nothing has changed, in fact it is worse. I guess the current CEO just doesn’t give a damn and we have to wait for his magical innovations to solve everything.

Re: Website issues

I've also been having issues on and off for the last 24 hours. There's an issue with signin.ebay.co.uk - it always claps out when signing in or when an action requires 2FA/MFA verification. I have observed the problem across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers and the eBay Android app and also across completely disparate internet connections.

eBay must surely give all sellers some respite from late delivery/despatch defects, case resolution deadlines etc. whilst sellers are unable to actually do anything about them due to eBay's technical failings. Also, eBay should inform buyers their items might be delayed for the same reason and that any delay is entirely eBay's fault and not due to any inaction or fault of the seller(s) they purchased from.

I realise I'm asking for way too much.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Re: Website issues

Try this:  I have managed to sign in via eBay.com and then using the sign in link from account settings to get back into eBay UK.  I would suggest others try this.

As indicated by a poster on the Technical issues board it would appear that the eBay home page sign in link is .............. lets say kaput.

I did something similar but I was reluctant to post the method because it seems you can sign in to eBay.com with your password which then allows you to bypass 2FA/MFA which is a glaring security hole...

Re: Website issues

Logging in to .com I did have to verify my password with a text code so I wasn't too concerned about being able to transfer directly from a .com page into eBay UK from the account settings menu.
