Simple delivery now compulsory

Please contact Ebay if you feel this is a step too far.  If enough members complain, they may reconsider, or a least provide more notice.

Re: Simple delivery now compulsory

I have let them know that I won't be selling after 16th.

The least they could have done was to give a fixed date say some 6 months down the line so peeps could get through their listings.

Re: Simple delivery now compulsory

It always pays to read the small print at the end.  This is what it says, with the important part sown by me in bold.

Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales.

So what this means, I think, is even if you have opted not to use Simple Delivery, for any listings you do which end after April 7th, Ebay will automatically update to Simple Delivery anyway.  So, if you have stuff to sell and don't wish to use Simple Delivery, make sure it is sold by April 6th.

I just can't be bothered any more.  The ridiculous and unnecessary Buyer Protection Fee - just another way of collecting money while pretending that it is free to sell, and now this.  I shall not be using Ebay after April 6th.

Re: Simple delivery now compulsory

My phone would not support the recent app update therefore I cannot show a QR code at the Post Office. This means Simple Delivery is any thing but "simple" for me. Now it is compulsory. I used to mail worldwide using my own hand written labels 19 years and 100% good feedback. If I do list from now on, it will have to be pick up only. Disappointing.

Re: Simple delivery now compulsory

I've not tried simple delivery - can you see the QR code looking at the order in a web browser on your phone?

Or you can opt to send with Evri only - and you will receive a 6 character code to type into the Evri machine.

(I've heard rumours ebay are hoping to bring in a similar code scheme with the post office also - sometime.)
