Simple Delivery

According to the ebay explanatory page, the new Simple Delivery scheme is more convenient to sellers and will save time and effort!

Please correct me if I have misunderstood, but how will it be more convenient to me and save time and effort.

As a private seller, I have been selling my post card collection for low value. At present, I stick a 75p stamp onto a protected envelope and walk 25 yards to my conveniently placed village post box.

How does driving 2 miles to my nearest post office to get a proof of postage receipt, save me time?

Over the last 15 years, I have sold probably 2-3000 post cards by this method and I have never had one go astray. I have 100% feedback and many satisfied regular buyers,

You can still that, but it does mean that your payment will be held for 14 days.

Thank you for your response. So, ebay are not going to insist private sellers use "Simple Delivery", but punish us when we don't?

'So, ebay are not going to insist private sellers use "Simple Delivery",..'

Well, yes they will eventually push all private sellers into 'simple delivery'

The 'punishment' of sitting on your money for 14 days is for *not* using tracked postage which can be shown to have been delivered.

Obviously, tracked postage is stupidly expensive when you're selling very cheap things, so erm... yeah.

It's 14 days wait or not at all!

I sell from Guernsey.

our only post provider is Guernsey Post and they arent included in the Simple Post scheme, what does this mean for off shore residents that really shouldn't fall under "UK"
