After 17 years I had enough of eBay thanks to Simple Delivery: the most idiotic system imaginable. Simple Delivery demonstrates the utter ineptitude of eBay and their total contempt for their users.

'.....their total contempt for their users.'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, Simple Delivery wasn't put in place to make life simpler or easier for sellers, or to make ebay more attractive for buyers; it was put in place to be another 'Income Stream' for ebay. That's all.
The phrase 'Simple Delivery' is just a triumph of marketing 'double-speak'- it means nothing at all.
(Ebay will have worked out that they'll make more profit from S.D. , than they lose from the number of sellers who will stop selling )

Totally agree it was put in place to be another revenue stream for eBay, but ....
as a seller I do find it's simpler and easier, and as a buyer the fact that you can use Evri shop-to-shop option is a big plus - cheaper postage, and I don't have to worry about being in when they deliver. So those might be by products of the original intention, but it works for me.

I'm glad it works for some people! (I suppose there did have to be a small 'carrot' of some sort to put against the enormous 'stick' of S.D. 😄)
But, in it's current, confusing mess re; work-arounds, over-sized stuff, combining postage, bonkers categories for under-sized items, and Evri (jeeez...what a company to partner with ☹️) being pushed hard........ 'simple' it certainly isn't!

Wow, this just happened to me on Friday, 25/7/25. You may not believe this, but trust me it is very true.
Bought an item from ebay and the postage I paid was for Royal mail 48 tracked, fine, no qualms with that, however I was in all day Friday and the parcel was delivered, excellent. But hang on one minute, the delivery person was not RM, it was Evri!!! With a RM 48 label on the package! My god what is going on? Have RM joined up with Evri? This is madness.
I know it was Evri, dirty white van, and I know the guy who works for Evri. He's dropped off Evri parcels for me before. Is this legal on ebay's part? I think not. So if your a seller and you choose only RM as your courier, sorry it's all Evri now with odd looking RM labels, will post a photo of label, if anyone is interested; unbelievable.

Hardly eBay's fault. If it had a RM label on, so it should have ben delivered by RM. Maybe you could ask the seller who he sent it with?
Some POs take Evri stuff as well as RM, so maybe the PO staff member put it in the wrong bag, if that's so, then it was very good of Evri to deliver, as they wouldn't have been paid for it!

Evri would not do that, besides the RM label looked very different from the Original RM48's I've had in the past. Something very fishy going on here.

The labels do look a bit different. The screenshot below is an Ebay Simple Delivery label used by me as a seller - I only use Royal Mail and this was accepted and sent from my local Post Office.
I am guessing the previous answer was right - Ebay or your seller were not at fault - an employee at the Post Office put your parcel in the wrong bag.

Not possible, Evri would reject it. The label you are showing is a genuine RM label. The one on my parcel is very different. Anyway have googled Evri and RM working together, and it is true. Evri deliver RM parcels as part of a joint enterprise. Go see for yourself.

Yes, please. It would be interesting to see the difference.

I can't find anything regarding Evri delivering Royal Mail parcels when I Google. Everything that comes up is concerning the Post Office now acting as an agent for Evri which is nothing to with Royal Mail.
If your label is different to the above and to standard Royal Mail Tracked labels then it would be interesting to see a screenshot.
