Simple Delivery is anything but simple

All my listings have been forcefully swapped to Simple Delivery - there is no possible alternative.  And yet the Simple Delivery service is not available in my postcode area.  No reason has been given.  Ebay creates a prepaid label (with the money paid by the buyer for postage) but I am not able to access it;  so I have to spend my own money buying my own label.  I enjoyed many years of mostly trouble-free selling but the recent overhauls have spoilt it, and this looks like it might be the end of my selling.  I can’t be the only person in this situation.  Where will Ebay be, without the rare and curious items listed by its previously loyal private sellers?

What do you mean by not available in your postcode? You either get a Royal Mail label or an Evri label. What are you instead having to use??

you can even arrange a Royal Mail collection with provided Royal Mail labels at extra cost of course.

For me that's not the point. Ive been on eBay about 24 years and sold about 1800 things. I only want to use Royal Mail as I can only remember 2 things going missing over all that time whereas I have used evri for about 35 items and have had 3 missing complaints. Before you say it yes I know I can untick evri but when I did that the postage price stayed the same at £3.38 for small parcel when the actual charge from RM 48 is £3.45 , we should be able to specify our own postage , simple delivery is faff.

I see from looking at your old listings you are located on the Isle of Wight, have you opted to use Royal Mail only for Simple Delivery?

If not then the problem maybe that eBay AI is generating Evri to be selected as the courier and Evri is not actually available under SD on the Isle of Wight, but it seems that possibly there is a conflict between the eBay and Evri systems when a label is generated.

The label is generated but I am not able to retrieve it.  When I click on it, it comes up with “Post from postcode is not valid.”  So I can’t get the label, nor mark the item as dispatched, nor add tracking.

Isn’t it the case that Ebay will provide the label for £3.38?  My understanding is that they have negotiated special rates with Royal Mail.

Just when I think I must have seen all the multitude of ways in which ebay has made it difficult/impossible for the seller to sell, another new anomaly is reported to add to the pile of dogs-doodah that is Simple Delivery.

Yes, I opted to use Royal Mail only.  The label that is generated is for Royal Mail, but I am not able to access the label.

You may be right , I didn't go any further , but if that's the case eBay should let us know.

Anyway I am self employed and work long hours so sometimes I cannot post within the 2 days simple delivery is demanding so I'm not selling anything postable until they relax that rule.
