Simple Delivery: Is it? Has anyone had a successfully completed sal

I was switched to Simple Delivery on 7 April so took down all my listings and haven’t listed anything since.

Most of what I sold was either clothing that had been outgrown or books, so mostly Royal Mail small parcel size. Everything was buy now with the vast majority costing less than £15.00.   No matter the selling prices, I charged buyers for postage only what I paid Royal Mail via its App for tracked 48.  I’m aware that a cheaper option for postage might have attracted more buyers but I  would never choose Evri or Yodel for anything and always end up on tenterhooks if I inadvertently buy something on line despatched with them.

Since the beginning of April I’ve been  watching these  forums and the more I’ve read the less I know. Similarly having complained directly to eBay their replies have left me none the wiser although to be fair they did answer my question about how the enhanced protection offered with ( not so) simple delivery differed from the protection offered with Royal Mail’s Tracked 48. For me personally there is nothing to be gained as I only sell low price items but for those selling more expensive stuff I can see how they are selling it as a benefit.
Apologies for all the waffle - the main reason for this post is to try and find out if anyone has had a successfully completed simple delivery sale with a small parcel size, and if so was the listing straightforward and what did the postage price come out as.  Thank you

Sold a small parcel a week or so ago under SD. The listing is the same as normal except I picked a weight that was right for the parcel rather than eBays recommended one. I think the postage  came out as £3.75 but they have since altered the price to £3.44 with RM (up to 1kg)

It was ok, the tricky part is getting a listing price to look about right with the BPF, that takes a little numbers juggling.

I think eBay should change it back to showing the sellers asking price , then when you click on the listing you can see how much extra  it’s going to cost for ebays “buyer protection”

vinted did this after all the stupid looking prices and all the complaints

people deal with whole pounds or half pounds or 99ps or sensible parts of a pound

not 11p 73p or platform 9 and a half harry potter world ps

lol

Re: Simple Delivery: Is it? Has anyone had a successfully completed sal

When I dropped a parcel off at my local post office I discovered there was no small parcel any more they are pricing everything as a meduim parcel which means the box can now be larger than a small parcel but still be under 1kg . What I fail to understand is what has happed to the 2-5kg weight parcel . Which means a parcel with a weight off 2.5kg will cost you over £10 via ebays postage prices but in a post office it would only cost you just over £5 . Another thing I have noticed if you offer tracked 48 free ebay will still charge over £4 for tracked 24 where some sellers would have only charged the difference between 48 and 24 delivery which means buyers could haver tracked 24 for around a £1 extra

2 -5 KG is no longer an option on the Royal Mail website so I don't think eBay can be blamed for that.

Re: Simple Delivery: Is it? Has anyone had a successfully completed sal

2-10 is though and eBay don’t have that

you have to opt for 15 kg so yes ebay CAN be blamed for that

what you actually pay for is RMs 20 kg  if your item is 3kg because RM don’t have a up to 15 kg rate anyway

ebay offer up to 2kg then jump to up to 15kg

pretty sad state of affairs don’t you think?

Yes you are correct (they've made it so confusing), my point is Royal Mail have removed the 2-5 kg option which is quite frankly ridiculous.
