Royal Mail didn't show up at my place to collect an item yesterday and then lied about it. I know they're lying because I have carers supporting me 3 times a day, 7 days a week and they had no difficulty accessing my building. I have an intercom with a video camera. I've had deliveries from Amazon, again no problem. So to be absolutely clear: no one from Royal Mail attended.
I was on hold for 45 minutes with Royal Mail before giving up. In the past 24 hours I've rang eBay numerous times but no matter what time of day or night the AI bot says the call is "out of hours" then hangs up. This happened at am and pm. What is going on?
That's not to mention all the views on my items constantly being reset to zero willy nilly...
I'm not a newb. I've been a member here since April 2003. Ever since lockdown the failures from eBay have been shocking. Not that it was so great beforehand. I'd say things began to fall apart about 10 or so years ago, which is why I began to drastically reduced my activity here. I will not bore people with tales of previous fiascos but this very much feels like the last straw.
I have withdrawn all my listings and now attempting to get my buyers to cancel their orders. If all else fails I will simply refund them and close down the account after 22 and a half years.
This place was once great. A place which I would defend against anyone when the proverbial "fleabay" remarks would rear their ugly head.
Now it's an absolute shambles. I'm done.

Did you pay the extra fee for Royal Mail pick up? We had this when we first used the system and the ebay regime said nothing about extra payment just saying RM would collect and even provide the label! It wasnt picked up and redoing the next day and printing a label, paying the 30p it was collected.

What lies did RM tell? Did you get a confirmation e-mail from them that a collection had been booked? It's easy to miss a step when sorting out the postage and think a collection has been booked when it hasn't.
Since finding that out I've had no trouble and don't pay 30p

Of course I got an email. Two of them. One saying they'd be round between half 9 and half 10. Didn't happen. Then another at 1.02pm saying they'd just been round but no one was in. Again untrue.

One the first sale no, on the second one yes. Wouldn't pay it on principle. I'm not a fan of the sneaky and the underhand
