Sending To Northern Ireland

Just a heads up that the 'Windsor Framework' is now in effect from 1st May 2025

It is for both business and private sellers.

If you are sending to Northern Ireland, don't just stick stamps on it.

It won't get delivered, but returned.

There is no need to print out additional paper via Royal Mail once item info is filled in.

Everything seems to be electronic and connected to the label.

Items to the Channel Islands have needed a customs label for years.

Items sent to NI have never needed a customs label but there are now new rules in place.

Sending to Channel islands - just use normal Royal Mail services but add a Customs Label.

NI - buy postage via Royal Mail Click and Drop to make sure all the requirements are met.

I've sent to NI since this has been implemented. Either you have to fill in the customs sticker and stick it on the envelope, or, as I do, use Royal Mail Click and Drop online, fill in customs details online during postal purchase. The bar code then provides all the customs information required.

Sending To Northern Ireland

I've a package to send to Jersey, been posting to Channel Islands regularly for many years.  Have been added customs labels since it was required.

The postage charged by eBay is my international rate.  So it looks like eBay is treating C.I. as an international destination.

I'm going to send with UK postage and will refund the difference, as agreed with the buyer.

Not sure though if the tracking number will upload, which may be a sticky wicket.

Bigger problem is that this buyer queried the postage charge and completed the purchase.  A lot of folk might not even bother.    I no longer sell to NI or Ireland, nor anywhere else in the EU.  The market just gets smaller.

I’ve just done 2 to NI even though NI was excluded in postage preferences.

Both times I had to fill in a custom form but as it’s electronic didn’t need to print a custom form out which I found odd.

All the info needed is contained in the bar code, so no need to print any docs, other than the address label, which  includes the bar code. That's with RM. I don't think Evri have have been allowing items to be sent to NI for a long time now.
