So private sellers can nnow sell for free but i see that Ebay are now saying
"your funds will typically be available in your balance to use on eBay or withdraw within 2 days. You can then request your available funds directly to your linked bank account.
Withdrawals typically take another 0-4 business days to clear in your bank account". Now considering that i usually get my funds the next day, am i supposed to now wait up to 2 days to get the funds into my account and a further 0-4 working days to get my cash? Come on Ebay, make it very clear when we can expect to see the funds!, waiting "up to" 6 days to get our cash is not good.....

I don't think they can make it any clearer as there are variables outside their control in the calculations.
It will take as long as it takes, maybe up to 6 days, likely very much less.

I can see this being a real issue for sellers with no disposable cash or on a very low income or in financial difficulty
Some people sell items as they are desperate and cannot wait 6 days for the money
Yes, you could argue that they cannot afford to sell on eBay in case they need to refund, in that case, but for some there is no other option
If you have never been in that situation then be very thankful

Some people are never happy
Would you rather pay fees and get your money instantly?

The clearing time is nothing to do with eBay, that would be down to the bank. Banks may have different clearing times, some are longer than others.
If you've been receiving cleared funds next day then your bank has a short clearing time, and it should be no different this time round except for the 2 day wait before you can click on the withdraw button.

Little rant time as i am currently NOT happy 😞
Just listed a 90ml perfume......
ALL across my listing is plastered adverts for other sellers selling the same perfume which is only 30ml !!!!
I do not usually rant but this is frustrating!

Just had a peek @1956glyn and not only do you have ' Similar item's just below your main photo, but beneath this is.. ' Explore Related Items' clicking on See all, that brings up a Whole page of those perfumes, every size and price with title of ' New Business' attributed to some sellers , and an odd ' New (other) business title on some ? 🤔

For the sellers - a buyerrs viewpoint...
From a buyers perspective (and this is probably not going to be popular) but I now make use of this new hated feature ...
(I do understand why this peeves sellers but an alternative viewpoint may help your business)
If you aren't the cheapest, you won't get the sale
I find the item I want, then scroll down to the suggested items and keep clicking on each one until I get to the cheapest (just the same as I have been doing on the River for years).
I am sure this is what most buyers will do
If you aren't the cheapest, you won't be getting the sale
TBH I don't care if business/private as I know I am protected by MBG, and maybe this makes me a hypocrite (or just honest), but I imagine this is what most buyers will also do.
Buyers just want it cheap. I don't really care about the sellers CS (unless it is an expensive item that might need tech support), I am protected by my card and by MBG if its lacking!
So yes, "private" sellers will be undercutting you and taking all the business, now they pay no fees!

I know they are everywhere ! A third of the size of mine too grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Saw this a few days ago, just another gimmick by ebay. You have New buisiness, Pre-owned buisness, New private and Pre-owned private on everybodies listings.

with my buyer hat on yesterday i was looking for a couple of clothing items and it was a nightmare! Whatever you put in to search is totally ignored. for example M & S red dress with long sleeves brings up anything and everything but what you want. The actual brand i wanted only showed two items that i had detailed in the first couple of rows and yet i found more further down. What good is a search engine that provides you with things you do not want?? If i say i want brand A then i want brand A, if nothing there then i will then choose a different option brand or not bother, E Bay will not be changing my mind on what i want regardless of what they think.

well i have just put a different viewpoint on here. I disagree that the buyer just wants the cheapest. There are often far more important things to consider, state of the item, sellers feedback (yes, i still pay attention to it), delivery (i never buy from anyone using EVRI) etc. No good having the cheapest if it is from a cr.p seller and arrives in lousy condition. I do not want to be bothered with returning items, i want the item or i would not be buying.
06-10-2024 1:33 PM
I tend to buy new stuff only so the condition would be the same whoever I buy from
Evri isn't a problem here so I don't care which courier they use, my items always get delivered

And if you never request it the money will be sat in ebays account for at least 3 months before its paid to you.
Comming in cant remeber date but this month
Was mentioned on these boards

The prefix 'New', 'New (other)', etc is referring to the item condition, nothing to do with the type of business.
Seems to be confusing a lot of people so does need to be made clearer but I think making it more prominent as to whether a seller is a registered business or just a private seller is generally a good idea.

I am confused because it said free for current listings yet I got charged a transaction fee for a listing that ended on Saturday 5th October. The amount though seemed less than usual.

I'm pretty sure the payment times are as they currently are I think mine has always said that it could take up to 4/5 days from when it's sent to the bank. Just covering themselves, I guess.
As for the sponsored/promoted listings - I never look at them, just swear at them when I try and scroll past and my screen just jumps back up to them again. Every now and again I do the 'suggestions' thing to let ebay know that they are irrelevant, and I don't want to see them.
I also scroll straight past them when they are shown in search returns. I feel that if sellers are paying ebay to possibly promote their listings, they could have sold the item a bit cheaper if they hadn't used it!
06-10-2024 2:19 PM
Aaah thank you @sml192 so when it runs all together written exactly thus... New (other ) Business, underneath an item for sale, one has to re arrange the words so equally it could refer to a New item, Or other, on a Business account ?? Not a new business selling a perfume described as ' other' !
Mmmm, clear as some other notifications eBay dream up. 🤔
06-10-2024 2:21 PM
I pay fees, but still dont get funds instantly!!!!
We used to get instant ebay payouts with Paypal, before ebay 'improved' things . Also the other platforms i now sell on also payout instantly.

Was it an international sale or did you add any listing upgrades such as a reserve?
