Selling for private sellers in now "Free" BUT.......

So private sellers can nnow sell for free but i see that Ebay are now saying

"your funds will typically be available in your balance to use on eBay or withdraw within 2 days. You can then request your available funds directly to your linked bank account.

Withdrawals typically take another 0-4 business days to clear in your bank account". Now considering that i usually get my funds the next day, am i supposed to now wait up to 2 days to get the funds into my account and a further 0-4 working days to get my cash? Come on Ebay, make it very clear when we can expect to see the funds!, waiting "up to" 6 days to get our cash is not good.....

I am confused because it said free for current listings yet I got charged a transaction fee for a listing that ended on Saturday 5th October. The amount though seemed less than usual.

You sold a few fantastic,  and quite high value items on the 5th.

Did any of them have a reserve?  Then, listing upgrades still carry a non refundable listing fee,  these do still need to be paid,  as do any of the following, if selected and used:

These are payable sale or no sale and charged the second the item goes live.

Reserves: 4% of the set reserve ( maximum £150 per item)

Subtitles: £2

Listing in 2 catagories: 35p

Gallery Plus: £2.50 ( free for clothes and shoes)

Listings with duration 1 - 3 days 35p

A third of the size of mine too grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The buyer saw your listing for 90ml, then eBay showed them cheaper listings.  Did the buyer check the volume?  I bet they didn't.  They just assumed it was the same thing but cheaper.

That seller's probably going to get a SNAD when a tiny bottle arrives.  You've lost a sale, the seller's lost a sale and return postage.  Where's the sense in that?

No, none of those. The only thing I had was visibility in USA and Canada which costs 0.05 GBP. I have now checked the payment break down and there's an "international fee" of 2.5%. So they give with one hand and take from the other.

Re: Selling for private sellers in now "Free" BUT.......

I agree - and they expect you to post the items promptly - but if funds are not available ( as of today 16th - no withdraw funds option available , so funds are just sitting in " balance"...???) where do they think we are getting the postage money from?  It worked perfectly fine for private sellers , and happy that they sent payment next day as it cleared in my bank account and so posting items fast no problem, but to be expected to fund postage for up to a week before being paid for the items sold.. no way!

Ten items sold thats nearly £40 post and yet no funds? I certaily would not want to pay for something and then to wait a week before a seller posted it. Something seems very off.

Were we asked that option?

not sure many 'private' sellers sell 10 items over a few days.  I consider myself lucky to sell 2 or 3 a week!   If you cannot afford to pay postage upfront for a few days what will you do if the items are returned??

Re: Selling for private sellers in now "Free" BUT.......

Never had to deal with a return in all my 17 years here...my question was hyperthetical  as there are many sellers who are using the platform just to get by and not running a business, and why post when funds are not cleared into your bank account? Years back ebay warned us not to post until funds had cleared, it is a good policy to follow... Re sales.. I think the " algorythm" plays a part on listings being seen in search or lack of being seen, if they are not appearing, then no sales... tweeking your listings can help but obviously that takes time...

If they didn't do this they wouldn't make any money anymore - offering a free service they would never survive, cut them some slack
