Simple delivery will never be acceptable to sellers and buyers.
Inflated postage prices created by eBay just to make them more money.
What was wrong with sellers deciding for themselves how THEY wanted their items to be despatched … what service to use, preferred delivery source etc
eBay should NEVER have introduced Buyer Protection Fee.
It inflates the item price that the buyer sees and will obviously be a deterrent in achieving that sale.
Don't penalise the buyer.
I note on these community postings, a preference to return to the previous features such as buyers fees, occasional free listing promotions etc.
Whilst this would make sense, I doubt if eBay would want to appear stepping down and admitting they have make mistakes.
If they were to compromise I feel they would regain the respect they have lost or is their greed more important to them ….Probably the latter.

'You're a private seller'
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeaaahhh.... I didn't want to start on the "private" seller argument again. But I did go and have a quick peek at the account......( 'cos I'm nosy 😁)
There's 3,400 listings on there! 😲

As far as I can tell, Evri don't cover most things for loss or damage and the way they deliver is incredible. Reminds me od American paper boys, just lobbing it at the doorstep

Yes and it's all coming off as soon as stupid delivery is implemented, I have a local auction house ready to take it all.

You are absolutely right and I have been researching converting to a business seller as there doesn't appear to have BPF added and at the moment, no simple delivery. The fee structure is immaterial as so many sales are via offers that more or less account for the old fees anyway.
Problem is, sales are so infrequent now that it's probably not worth it and some sellers I know feel the same so I'm going to give it till SD is implemented in full probably call it a day.
(And it's ok to be nosy, I've got nothing to hide)

I'm told that apparently you can exclude Evri and just stick with Royal Mail but postage will be more if you choose that option than Royal Mail would be if you choose both options. So the way I see it is that eBay charge more for Royal Mail if you choose Royal Mail only and less for Royal Mail if you choose Royal Mail and Evri. That can't be right surely, that would be plain discrimination!

Ebay are doing what they want, there is not moral right or wrong. Ebay charge more for 24 hour label and then give you a 3 day label for the same price. Once SD is issued no refund and if you use your own you loose.

So by that token, it seems that eBay are pressing the self destruct button, that sort of attitude from them will dissuade both buyers and sellers and drive them away to other platforms. I really don't see their logic!

i do not see any war at all between business sellers and pseudo private sellers (which i would say you are included in that catergory!). Business sellers are usually just pointing out the truth that some people are trading illegally by not complying with consumer regs etc. If others choose to take offence then that is their problem!

Just another Ebay rip off...
Ebay used to be liable for the Guarentee on sales taken from their massive profits...got too greedy and now want the buyer to pay

Complain to the CMA. I know some ebay sellers who have already done so. Ebay are effectively setting up a shipping cartel.

Not this private seller I'm out of here.
