Refunds on purchases

I have had buyers ask for some discount on their purchases after they have arrived ,I get the feeling this is to pay for the buyers protection fees . 2 out of 3 of the last items I sold the buyers have wanted partial refund . The one didn't want to return the item when I offered them to return it ,but got cross that I didn't offer partial refund . I think this is going to happen alot

Yep,  that's certainly something that Private sellers may well see as an ask for their sold listings.

As you know partial refunds cannot be enforced, and if negative feedback is left because of the failure to refund this fee, report to Customer Services,  ask only very first thing preferably on weekdays at 8 a.m. when lines first open,  there's more chance of Dublin answering, to have that feedback removed.

Another thing which should have been foreseen, particularly with lower cost items. Many posters on these boards have stated that, as buyers, they really don't care where the money goes, as long as they are happy with what they pay. So a seller sells something for £4.00, and eBay adds 91p (or 88p depending on their arithmetic), bringing it up to almost a fiver.

I can easily see scenarios where a buyer would expect a better product for almost £5.00 than they would for £4.00. It's another indication that lower price sales won't be practical for private sellers on eBay.

Of course, buyers can just claim SNAD, and get all their money back, if they feel like it, claiming the item was not of the quality expected. I'm surprised this hasn't really come up before.
