with over 5k of sales and nearly 900 items listed , best bet is register as a business seller so the new rules do not apply, simple.

If you do register as a business then there are fees to pay - a monthly shop fee ( + VAT) plus you are charged 30p per item sold (+VAT) & a selling fee of 10.9% on CDs (plus VAT). This adds up & moving from private to business is not always financially beneficial especially if you are selling low value items in small quantities. Perhaps the biggest advantage for registering as a business is you bypass the "simplified postage" system which is going to be a nightmare for private sellers.

Actually it is factored into the final selling price - it is actually a levy on sellers because they will need to absorb those fees to sell an item. If they do not then buyers will walk.

With regards to me as a private seller, As eBay are almost copying the Vinted model, both sellers and buyers will not benefit from moving to there. Issue will be the “simple delivery” due to start soon. If a buyer chooses “Evri chuck it over the side gate ” delivery and they don’t mark as delivered, it’s a 14 day wait for the seller to see their money.
