Pre paid label shambles

I clicked on the thing to get a pre-paid label, which I won't use as I always post 1st Class door to door.

The system then told me I have posted the item (I haven't) and I cannot see how to add first class postal tacking number when I do post the item tomorrow,  Clicking on the pre-paid label thing  was the only way to get a full address.

Next time (if there is a next time - Interest in my sales have dropped to one a fortnight since Buyers Protection fee has been introduced.) I'll just PM the buyer and ask them for their address.

The simple art of listing is now so complicated I've given up.  I just want to post 1st Class door to door and my buyers  have always been happy. (see feedback)

What loose brain cell came up with this new system. It was working perfectly.  They have screwed things up.

Pre paid label shambles

I'm the same but have used my camera to take a pic of the code. Thought that worked well only to find the label printed out at the Post Office was for large letter for a set of glasses. I wrote out a label and sent , but spent ages talking to a rude call handler in Albania getting spoken to as if I am an imbecile.

I have wasted so much time on this it's depressing.

The whole thing is a complete mess. Not as if there are many sales now at all.

'Sounds like, even though deselected, eBay's system hasn't been programmed to ignore everything to do with evri.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a photo just appeared on the Monster Thread which would seem to explain ebay's need to push Evri harder than RM.

eBay's terms do say they can override our deselection in certain circumstances and still offer the deselected carrier to the buyer.'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Possibly for the occasions where a seller has de-selected RM , but evri don't actually cover the part of the country where the parcel needs to be delivered to (Highlands and Islands type places...) so it *has* to go RM .

Slightly different for me as I offer free postage on all my items.

I make deliveries on behalf of my business (unrelated to the items I am selling) and can deliver items at zero cost to me.

If I have to use SD, it's going to eat into my profit.

It's almost as though ebay is looking for ways to make (our) life difficult.

That's the other reason why I'm not longer selling - the time it's going to take to sort out possible problems.

Ah, I hear you say, how do you know you're going to have problems.

I don't. But there have been enough reports on the boards of things going wrong, and on a whole variety of things.

Also, I lip-read. Discussion on the phone would be a nightmare for me. (I had a call from my health centre this afternoon offering appointment for shingles/pneumonia injections. I had to hand the call back to my brother to deal with as I couldn't cope with the caller's accent either.)

No problems pre-SD. Ebay was straightforward.

Now, as you say, it's 'a complete mess'.

One of my university lecturers called me a luddite. I was in no way insulted!

No, it shouldn't cost you anything except time*

If you're using S.D. and it's set up as 'buyer pays for postage', you print off the label (to get the address) but don't use it if you're delivering by hand.

This unused  label will be refunded back to the buyer (because they're the ones who bought it) in about 30 days.

If you set up S.D. as 'seller pays' (like the old 'free' postage) and the downloaded label doesn't get used, that label will be refunded to you in about 30 days. Because you're the one who bought it this time.

You delivering by hand hasn't cost you anything if you were going that way anyway.....

*TIME.   you'd have to wait the full 14 days to get the money from the sale. Because if you don't *use* the label, the tracking number doesn't go into the system to be confirmed as delivered...... so you have to wait.

Interesting.

I wasn't aware that an unused label would be refunded.

It's still a clunky ill thought out system.  Just because I don't want to use ebay postage labels, I have to wait longer for my payout.

I do not agree , there is away you are able to change the tracking details but Ebay are not making it easy to locate it . I agree the whole is a complete mess , there seems to be one problem after another . At the moment I am unable to invoice over £100 sold item which I have sold internationally which nothing to do with this *bleep* labeling system.

Reported the problem to CS yesterday  and was told they where looking into it . Having looked around on these notice boards I have discovered the problem was reported around the same time when Sinply Delivery was first started to be brought online . How can this been international post is not dealt with via Simply Delivery .

Why should you have to wait 30 days for a refund . If you brought a label using the old system them cancelled you would have received a refund in days not over 4 weeks .
