Posting a classified ad for a friend, HMRC rules?

hi all

Looking for a bit of advice. I'm thinking of posting a classified ad on eBay for a friend’s car. I won’t be handling the money or the sale itself. The buyer would contact them directly and pay them directly too.

I know eBay is now sharing seller info with HMRC if you hit certain thresholds, and I just want to make sure I’m not accidentally getting caught up in that. Since this is a classified ad, and it’s not my item or income, am I in the clear?

I’ll be including a note in the ad saying it’s listed on someone else’s behalf.

Anyone know the score on this or done something similar?

TIA

No matter what, if it's on your account you are totally responsible.

I wouldn't you become responsible for any issues, and with not getting anything but trouble, for me it's a NO.

What's the reason why your friend wouldn't be able to post their own Classified Ad?
