Postage Refund under Simple Delivery - How Does it Work

I sold an item 10 days ago on my other account. I purchased the postage from eBay however when the label printed the  weight was 0g so I had to request to cancel and purchase another label with the correct weight on.

Since SD has been introduced does anyone know how the refund of the postage works? Is this now through Royal Mail? Reading the email I received it looks like it is.

Does anyone have any experience of cancelling eBay postage recently.

Thanks

You submitted a request to cancel a postage label. Royal Mail is processing your request now.

If your request is approved, the label cost, along with any additional options purchased, will be credited to your original payment method within 15 days

Postage Refund under Simple Delivery - How Does it Work

With Simple Delivery, many sellers are getting an incorrect weight/size postage label, either by not putting in the correct weight in their listing, or finding that SD has come up with its own 'estimate'. Some sellers are using the inaccurate labels, because eBay says it's ok if SD chose the weight, but not if the seller got it wrong...

It looks like your refund is being handled by Royal Mail - so eBay must have arranged for RM to do the refunding, even though it is eBay that takes the postage cost from your buyer, to purchase the label for you...

I'm not sure I even understand what I've written... hopefully someone who's been successfully refunded will be able to shed some light on this... 😕
